What is a Super Partnership?

Super Partnerships are owned, controlled and run by GPs. Unlike a GP Federation, a Super Partnership is a single legal entity; a large GP partnership created by progressively enrolling and integrating existing GP practices to create a list size of circa
100k patients.

This list size creates the critical mass to develop an integrated care organisation similar to the US Health Maintenance Organisations - a resilient and influential provider organisation that integrates primary and secondary care services under one organisational roof, with efficient resource utilisation.

The Super Partnership retains the ‘local practice feel’ on each of its operating sites but sitting behind each site is a much more robust, business focused organisational infrastructure. This includes a GP executive team with clear roles and responsibilities, accountable to all GP partners .
